welcome to homeroom
Hi there! We’re Allison and Erin, owners of the mac and cheese restaurant homeroom. We hope to see you soon to share a mac and cheese with us!
Opening Homeroom was a dream come true for us. Before becoming restaurant owners, we both were working boring corporate jobs (Erin as an attorney, and Allison as a marketer) while daydreaming about one day opening a restaurant. After meeting at a busy Oakland cafe one fateful rainy day, we decided to quit our cushy jobs and sink our life savings into a mac and cheese restaurant. Luckily, lots of people love mac and cheese, and we received an outpouring of support and love from the community, friends and family.
So why mac and cheese? Well, besides that it’s the best food on earth, it makes people smile! How can you not smile as you dig into a big bowl of creamy, gooey, mac and cheese?
But Homeroom is much more than a mac and cheese shack. With over ten mac and cheeses available at a time, along with veggies, salads, homemade desserts, craft beers, local wines and awesome service, we are a birthday destination, a date spot, a community hangout, and so much more. We take aspects of fine dining—like beer and wine pairings and house-made desserts—and make them accessible to every one by keeping our prices low. We tried to create a fun, welcoming, inviting atmosphere that people would love coming back for.
Thanks for visiting! If you have any questions about homeroom, our cookbook, our story, or anything else, feel free to send us an email at email@example.com
