Trying to find the best gift for Father’s Day? Hint: it’s mac and cheese. We all know the quickest way to anyone’s heart is through their stomach, so it made sense for us to come up with something special this year. We tried to think of something that would be nice and filling, with a balance of saltiness and creamy, gooey cheese—and a cool twist. What’d we end up with?
The Mac Daddy.
Creamy gouda and salty pecorino cheeses (like we use for our Gilroy Mac) make up the base. We toss in some sautéed mushrooms, sweet caramelized onions, and smoky bacon, and voilà…mac heaven!
Our taste testers went crazy for it, so it was the obvious choice; one described the taste as similar to a cheesesteak, but with bacon. Whatever it strikes a resemblance to, one thing is for sure: get this for dad, and you’ll definitely be his favorite.
You can get it at both the restaurant and the to-go spot starting on Friday, June 19th, for $15*. If you’re sitting down, we suggest pairing it with a cold glass of the Old Rasputin Stout we have on tap; if you’re bringing it home, make sure to grab a bottle of the St. Bernardus Abt 12 Abbey Ale!
See you all soon!
*EDITOR’S NOTE: The Mac Daddy was so popular that we’ve made it our staff pick for July! Please note that the price listed above was a limited-time Father’s Day special; this month, you can order it at either location for $16.50.
