Some of you are going to be pretty mad. Like stomp your feet mad.
But some of you are going to jump up and down and do a little happy dance!
Starting on April 21st, we will no longer have the Crab Mac or the Truffle Mac on the menu. But, we’re replacing them with the Hawaiian Mac and the Buffalo Chicken Mac! Yay!
This was a really tough decision for us. The Crab Mac and the Truffle Mac are both pretty special to us. They are our celeborary macs. They are what you order when you feel like something a little fancy, a little indulgent. But they’re also our most expensive macs – expensive for you and expensive for us. Good crabmeat costs a lot by the pound – as it should, when you think about what you’re getting. Crab also has a season, so it doesn’t really make sense to keep crab on the menu when it’s not crab season. Same with the Truffle Mac – using cheese made with real truffles instead of a cheap truffle oil costs A LOT. And after chatting with many of you at the restaurant, you would much prefer to have the Hawaiian or Buffalo permanently on the menu than the Truffle mac anyway.
So if you’re in the group of people who will be stomp-your-feet-mad, come in anytime before April 21st to get your fill of the Crab Mac or the Truffle Mac. But don’t fret too much, we’ll have the Crab Mac back every year as a special for January and February, just in time for New Year’s celebrations and the Bay Area’s Dungeness Crab season.
